Stephen is a Partner and leader of Turks' Victorian Commercial Disputes, Advisory & Transactions practices, based in the Melbourne office.
Stephen has more than 30 years' experience advising on commercial property, transactions, corporate advisory and regulatory matters. He is a highly experienced property and commercial lawyer who works with corporate clients, government organisations, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, developers and private businesses across a broad range of transactions and projects.
His expertise includes commercial property acquisitions and disposals, commercial, retail and industrial leasing, development projects, due diligence, joint ventures, mortgages and securities, corporate restructures and business acquisitions. Stephen has advised on significant property, infrastructure and commercial transactions across Australia and regularly assists clients with complex leasing arrangements, transactional structuring and portfolio-based property matters.
In addition to his transactional practice, Stephen regularly acts for liquidators, receivers and trustees in bankruptcy on commercial and property issues arising from insolvencies, restructures and security enforcement processes. He also has extensive experience advising financial institutions on property sales and asset realisation strategies arising from distressed debt and enforcement matters.
