Sean is a Partner in Turks' Employers Liability team, based in the Sydney office.
Sean specialises in workers compensation and brings extensive experience in claims management, liability disputes and litigation. He regularly advises insurers and self-insured organisations on initial liability decisions, strategic claims management and the resolution of complex statutory workers compensation matters.
Sean has significant experience representing clients in proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission (PIC), including disputes involving liability, weekly benefits and medical issues. He also manages appeals to the Supreme Court and advises on the strategic conduct of complex and high-value claims.
Working with a diverse client base, including large self-insurers, Sean provides practical and commercially focused advice on liability assessment, dispute resolution and claims strategy. His experience includes reviewing claim files, preparing and advising on dispute notices, managing Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and Medical Assessment Certificates (MACs), and developing pathways for the efficient resolution of claims. Sean also works closely with major insurance brokers and plays a key role in managing a number of Turks' strategic broker relationships.
Sean is recognised for his collaborative approach and works closely with claims professionals and employers to achieve defensible outcomes while minimising claim duration and cost.
