Darryl is a Partner in Turks’ Life Insurance & Superannuation team, based in the Sydney office.

Darryl has more than 25 years' experience practising exclusively in life insurance and superannuation law, with particular expertise in group insurance arrangements and trustee obligations. He advises life insurers and superannuation trustees on complex legal, regulatory and claims-related issues, including group insurance documentation, death benefit claims, trustee decision-making, AFCA complaints, litigation and regulatory matters.

Drawing on extensive experience across both contentious and advisory matters, Darryl provides strategic guidance on group insurance arrangements, trustee governance, claims management, disputes and remediation programs. He is particularly recognised for his work on insurer and trustee obligations, anti-discrimination issues and large-scale regulatory review projects. He also has extensive experience advising on group insurance documentation, policy interpretation and issues arising under the Insurance Contracts Act. His extensive experience across legal, operational and regulatory issues enables him to deliver practical and commercially focused advice.

Darryl is a recognised industry leader and regular presenter at ANZIIF, ALUCA and other leading industry forums. He is regularly consulted by the Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI) on anti-discrimination and group insurance issues and serves as a judge for the ALUCA Turks Life Insurance Scholarship. His longstanding involvement in the sector reflects his commitment to industry development and professional education.
