2009 ANZIIF TurksLegal Scholarship Winner Announcement
Joseph Willis from Claim Solutions Pty Ltd has been named the 2009 ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship winner.
Mr Willis has been awarded a trip to the 2010 Claims Conference and Insurance Services Expo in San Antonio, Texas, including airfares, accommodation and spending money valued at $AU8,000. Runner-up, José Flores, from CGU Insurance, wins an educational voucher from ANZIIF valued at $AU500.
Designed to provide career development opportunities for general insurance professionals, the ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship also encourages thought leadership and insight into issues affecting the general insurance industry in Australia and globally.
The winning papers both addressed the issue of early resolution and payment of claims in adverse situations, including the 2009 bushfires in Victoria and floods in NSW and Queensland.
ANZIIF CEO and judge, Ms Joan Fitzpatrick, commended Mr Willis’ entry.
“Mr Willis’ paper was a stand out this year and his efforts are to be highly praised. He has the opportunity to share insights from his winning paper and broaden his professional network at the 2010 Claims Conference in Texas in March. We look forward to Joseph sharing his experiences with the industry upon his return.”
