Experience:
Peter Riddell joined TurksLegal in 2001 and is our Melbourne office Managing Partner. Peter is an insurance lawyer with significant experience encompassing both life and general insurance claims and products, in particular TPD, term life and income protection.

Peter advises on product and marketing materials, privacy and TPA issues. He is also a regular implementer of training courses for claims agents.

Peter is a regular guest speaker for the Australian and Life Underwriting Claims Association (ALUCA) in Victoria.

In 2006, Peter successfully defended a claim for an insurer client under an ‘any one duty’ definition in an income protection policy- the first such successful defence in an Australian superior court.

In 2009, Peter was listed as a leading lawyer in the Australasian Legal Business (ALB) review of insurance law.

Prior to joining TurksLegal, Peter worked as an in-house lawyer in AXA Australia's risk and litigation division for two and a half years.

Peter has also held a senior legal position with a major insurance broker, handling professional indemnity claims and advising on all insurance related matters including policy interpretation, claims handling and statutory interpretation.

Peter was admitted in April 1992 and practises in VIC.
