Michael joined TurksLegal in 2001 and is a senior Associate in the Insurance & Financial Services group. Michael has over 10 years of experience specialising in the areas of General Insurance, Insurance & Financial Services.
Michael practises exclusively for insurers and self-insured corporations. His expertise covers property damage (commercial, domestic and motor vehicle), travel insurance, householders and commercial property liability, arson and theft claims.
Michael also provides advice on issues of indemnity and Insurance Contract Act matters. He has appeared on behalf of insurers in diverse jurisdictions from the Consumer Traders and Tenancy Tribunal to the Supreme Court as well as providing assistance and advice for interstate and insurance matters.
He is also a key member of our team acting on behalf of insurers in relation to deposit bonds, including recoveries, litigation and product advice.
Prior to joining TurksLegal Michael worked within the insurance industry and offers extensive understanding of claims handling process and procedures, and best practice measures.
Michael has appeared for insurance clients in complex bond matters in the Court of Appeal and High Court. He has provided in house and off site training to insurance staff across a broad section of issues including a particular expertise in the area of travel insurance.
